XBOX One rezime - diskusija, info, slike, video

Evo intervju s Major Nelsonom

Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb - better known as Major Nelson - has revealed that you can plug an Xbox 360 into the Xbox One using the new HDMI-in port on the console.

“Absolutely; you can certainly plug an Xbox 360 in the back - that was one of my first questions when I heard about the [HDMI-in] feature,” he told a Reddit Games interviewer at E3.

He stopped short of explaining why you’d want to do that, but the inference from the question was that you might want to use the Xbox One UI, or perhaps make use of its multi-tasking while playing.

The same question covered plugging a Windows 8 PC in via HDMI-in port. “The answer is yes,” he said - a remark that seemed to cover both PC and set-top box input. It’s not specific confirmation but judging by the Xbox 360 compatibility there’s a good chance PCs will be too.

“It’s the only console right now that has HDMI-in, and it’s going to absolutely allow you to plug in your, for instance, your cable, your set-top box,” he said.

He looks a bit worn out. Also, ridiculous. And why is she singing?
Hryb tackled other thorny subjects such as how long Xbox One game licenses - your new Xbox games library - will last for. Will they outlive the Xbox One?

“We haven’t even started this generation so it’s kind of early to talk about the end of the generation. That’s certainly something that we would not do,” he said, referencing ending support at the end of the generation. “That’s not the way the system is designed - it’s designed for flexibility. Let’s get this system out there first.”

He also talked about bans. Now games are tied to licenses which are in turn tied to Xbox Live accounts, does being banned mean being withheld your game collection?

“Absolutely not,” Hryb answered definitively. "You will always have access to the games you’ve purchased.

To which the interviewer commented: “Yay.”

To which Hryb replied: “Yay - really? Come on! You had to expect that.”

“It’s safe to say we’re confident where we’re going. It’s also safe to say that gamers are going to love our vision of the future and what we’re going to offer for gaming.”
Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb

He was pressed again about the 24-hour online DRM check that Xbox One carries out, and wheeled out a familiar line about flexibility and sharing games with your family.

“We think the upside of being connected … it’s really about the library and having access to your games anywhere you are - things you can’t really do today,” he said.

“We think it’s going to be more flexible for the future, and that’s kind of what Xbox One is all about - we’ve looked towards the future and said, 'This is where the gaming industry is going and we want gamers to come with us on this journey which is going to unlock the amazing potential of these great gaming experiences as well as flexibility as I just described with the library. It’s one approach that we think is going to be infinitely more flexible.”

Hryb was confronted about Sony, too, and whether Microsoft would change anything following its rival’s combative showing at E3.

“I don’t think - we’re not going to change anything,” he answered. “We’re very happy with what we’ve done with Xbox One. Did you see the games on stage at our briefing? Did you see the exclusives? We’re really really proud of the system and the games that are coming out.”

He used Respawn’s Titanfall as an example of an exclusive and asked the interviewer if she’d seen it. She had, so he said: “OK. Enough said. Conversation over.”

Titanfall may yet become a PlayStation game, although it’s only on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC for now.

“It’s safe to say we’re confident where we’re going,” Hryb wrapped up. “It’s also safe to say that gamers are going to love our vision of the future and what we’re going to offer for gaming.”

Mada, više me ništa ne čudi

Microsoft’s Jeff Henshaw has promised that the Xbox Live cloud (access to which is mandatory for Xbox One to run) will ultimately be available in all countries.

“We have deployed our data centres geographically so that they can service the load for categories of countries all around the world,” he said. “So we have some of the best reach of any other company on the planet to be able to make sure that the Cloud Services that we offer are what we consider [to be] ubiquitous and will be available [to] all markets.”
11. Xbox One is three times more powerful than Xbox 360

Actually it’s eight times as powerful. Or 10 times as powerful. Or a million and eleventy three point five times as powerful. Take your pick of the various grandiose exec pronouncements. Alternatively, read our Xbox One guide for a breakdown of the specs and thoughts on where all that “power” goes. There’s doubtless a lot more to say, but this should serve as a useful foundation.
6. Cloud processing is a load of rubbish - it won’t materially affect the game

That’s not what the people creating Titanfall and Forza Motorsport 5 tell us. True, Microsoft’s suggestion that Xbox One benefits from the equivalent of several Xbox Ones in the cloud doesn’t tell the whole story - in practice, offloading huge chunks of data (such as high resolution textures) would incur huge bandwidth loads, and even the slightest bit of latency would cripple any time-sensitive game mechanics that happen in the cloud. But we’re told that AI and physics calculations can occur remotely, freeing up the console’s own resources for other tasks.

Izgleda kako bandwidth nece imati previse veze s cloudaom jer ce cloud pretezito sluziti za AI i samu fiziku i kalkulacije u samim igrama. BTW PRVI STAVAL JE PREDIVAN:tap:

procitaj moj post iznad

It’s also safe to say that gamers are going to love our vision of the future and what we’re going to offer for gaming

But we’re told that AI and physics calculations can occur remotely, freeing up the console’s own resources for other tasks

Microsoft’s Jeff Henshaw has promised that the Xbox Live cloud (access to which is mandatory for Xbox One to run) will ultimately be available in all countries.

Zasto MIcrosofte to radis, budi dosledan…

DOSAO JE I TAAAJJJJ DAAAAANNNN MS JE DOSLEDAN:NO MORE ALL ON AND DRM JEEEEEEEEEEEEEJJJJJJJEEEJJJJJJJJ

Microsoft removes online DRM from Xbox One
Press site crashes on the news

Well, here’s a thing. Microsoft has removed the always-online requirement from Xbox One.

Initial rumours on GiantBomb suggested that Microsoft was removing the controversial requirement for an online check-in every 24 hours and certain restrictions on disc-based games. This was seemingly confirmed by an update the company posted to the official Xbox One FAQ, although the detail is in a separate story that cannot be viewed, no doubt in part to most of the internet trying to read it.

That the update has happened at all does suggest that the initial reports were correct, though. Giant Bomb claimed that these included the following:

No more always online requirement

The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours

All game discs will work on Xbox One as they do on Xbox 360

An Internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console

All downloaded games will function the same when online or offline

No additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs

Region locks have been dropped

All of which should be considered good news, given the rancour that the initial announcement has attracted. More news as it happens.
COVJECE KAko MI JE OVO ULEPSALO DAN

update: Microsoft has confirmed it has made changes to “certain policies” for xbox one due to “feedback from the xbox community”.

According to reports earlier today, microsoft will ditch xbox one’s previously proposed drm control over used games and the need for the console to log in online every 24 hours.

While ms is yet to issue full details (it appears to be updating an online q&a at the time of writing), it has officially confirmed, “as a result of feedback from the xbox community, we have changed certain policies for xbox one.”

Ipak, ovo ozbiljno mjenja situaciju u next-gen borbi.
