Valve has filed a trademark application for Half-Life 3, leading to hopes that the long-awaited sequel may be a reality.
The news comes via a listing by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, which is the EU’s trademark and designs registry. According to Polygon, the application was actually filed on behalf of Valve by a patent and trademark firm called Casalonga & Associés. The trademark covers “computer game software,” “downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices”, as well as other goods and services. In the U.S, meanwhile, there is no equivalent record at the Patent and Trademark Office. Valve is also yet to publicly comment on the discovery. Bored by all the dull trademark talk? Don’t be. It means that after a near six year wait, the Most Anticipated Game Ever may be about to go public. Maybe.
A trademark application for Half-Life 3, possibly the next entry in Valve’s excruciatingly dormant Half-Life franchise, has been filed in Europe, according to the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, the European Union’s trademark and designs registry.
The OHIM’s database lists the Half-Life 3 trademark as owned by Valve Corporation, and filed on its behalf by Casalonga & Associés, a patent and trademark firm. The trademark covers “computer game software,” “downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices” and other goods and services. The application was filed on Sept. 29. There is no equivalent trademark on record at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
We’ve contacted Valve to verify the authenticity of the trademark and asked if it would like to confirm the existence of a new Half-Life game. We’ll update with any new information. Half-Life 2 was released in November 2004 after a protracted development cycle. The most recent entry in the series, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, was released Oct. 10, 2007. Speculation of a full sequel — instead of the long-awaited and previously announced Episode Three — has been frequent amidst concept art leaks, vague references from Valve employees ([URL=“http://www.polygon.com/2012/11/12/3635764/valve-gabe-newell-confirms-source-2-engine-ricochet-2-stars-of-blood”]including Gabe Newell) and hints in other games released through Steam that were wrongly identified as part of a Half-Life alternate reality game.
The only officially confirmed future Half-Life development is a movie based on the property. Valve is working with Star Trek director JJ Abrams on the project.

Lepo neko okacio Half Life 1998 Half Life 2004 Half Life 3xxx.
Earlier in the week, news circulated about a trademark listing for Half-Life 3, which had been filed in the Trade Marks and Designs Registrations Office of the European Union website, leading many to believe that an announcement for the game would soon follow. It seems that the news of Half-Life 3’s coming was greatly exaggerated.
Valvetime.net was able to confirm that the Half-Life 3 trademark has been removed from the Trademarks and Design Registration Office of the European Union’s website. A Portal 3 trademark, filed on October 2, is also likely a fake. Let this be a lesson to all of us that we should never get excited about anything; you’re only setting your heart up for pain.
Znaci troluju stvarno…dokle vise?
PS: Jel neko igrao Black Mesa: Source? To je HL1 preradjen u source enginu.
