Worms Battlegrounds hits Xbox One this month - 1080p, 60fps and loads of guns
Worms Battlegrounds - the umpteenth game from Team 17 about subterranean wiggly things and their explosive habits - will hit Xbox One on 30th May, via the ID@Xbox program. Let’s all celebrate with a gameplay trailer and some feature deets.
The game offers 25 single player story missions, 10 ‘Worm-Ops’ time attack missions, and multiplayer deathmatch and “Fort” modes - all of which take place across five environments: Inca, Viking, Feudal Japan, Industrial Revolution and Prehistoric. Day/night transitions are supported, as is 1080p. And 60 frames a second. Have all your next gen boxes been ticked, yet?
The game offers 65 weapons and utilities - including the Mega Mortar, Gravedigger, Winged Monkey, Oxygen, Worm Charm, Bovine Blitz, Whoopsie Cushion, Teleport Gun, Aqua Pack and Equalizer - together with 200 customisation items, “physics-based contraptions” and the option to create your own maps, should those in the download displease you.
There’s also a SmartGlass app which allows you to keep track of your stats on the go, just in case you’re out on a hot date and the conversation drifts naturally to how best to dispose of a worm located under an overhang. Here’s the trailer.
