The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth detalji

The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen has revealed a ton of tantalizing details about the upcoming 16-bit remake.

McMillen announced The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth back in August 2012 as a new-and-improved console version of the game that would feature additional modes, bosses, playable characters, co-op, and more. Since then, Rebirth has been announced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, as well as PC, and is being developed by Nicalis with McMillen acting as the lead designer. After a drought of new information, McMillen answered a plethora of reader questions on his blog.

McMillen explains the impetus behind the new art style, calling his self-made visuals from the original game “lazy” and “an eyesore.” He also states that he always wanted the game to have a retro look, as the game was based on The Legend of Zelda. McMillen says that he’s a lot happier with the new art style, and that players should reserve their judgment on the new look until all of the visual effects are added.

Also of note are the new additions teased by McMillen, including three new playable characters, 150 new items, and enough enemies, rooms, and chapters to almost double the size of the original game. McMillen also says that he hopes to support daily runs and shared seeds, and allow players to post pictures of their upgraded characters online. Owners of the original Binding of Isaac can also expect a “very sizable loyalty discount.”
