New Hero announced for Fable Legends

Say hello to Inga - she loves beating bullies, hates the colour pink and will wrestle you into oblivion

The third Hero in Lionhead Studios’ upcoming role-playing title Fable Legends has been revealed, and she sounds like the type of character that you’d describe as a bruiser - you definitely want her on your side in a scrap.

As Lionhead has written in its latest blog post, Inga was the tallest and strongest child from her village, and would often rock up at home covered in bruises “after mud wrestling anyone who caused problems for her friends.”

While her mum tried to dress her up in pink and send her off to dancing lessons, Inga preferred to play the role of defender when the smaller kids in her villange were being picked on by the big ones. When she was older, her and a group of friends came upon a band of outlaws who were raiding the tomb of a Hero. Inga stepped up, knocked the biggest outlaw out cold and took his shield as a sweet reward for herself.

"The rest of the gang ran. Witnessing this battle, Inga’s friends realised the truth, Inga was a Hero. It seemed hard to deny, for not only was there Inga’s defeat of the villains to consider, but also the fact that Bulwark (the Hero’s magical shield) had taken to her.

“So it was that Inga found herself known and feted across the whole region…Throwing off the yoke of primula pink and instead donning spikes and leather crafted for her by the local blacksmith, Inga shouldered Bulwark and headed for Brightlodge. To learn how to hero properly.”

The shield she carries, Bulwark, is made out of timber and brass, and “[boasts] an enchantment bound into it that helped it heal and reform no matter the damage it took… Armed with her strength and country wisdom, as well as an enormous magical shield, Inga is a fast learner and good friend.”

So, Inga’s the ultimate badass, and the blog’s emphatic about that: “If you’re stupid enough point a weapon at her companions she will ensure that you never threaten anyone again.”
