A new job posting by Microsoft offers a tantalizing tease of what could be in store for the power and stability of Halo 5’s multiplayer.
On its Microsoft Careers page, the software giant posted a job opening for a Program Manager, with the listing specifically focused on Halo 5, and including this line:
“The Halo Game Services team is working on building the next generation of backend services that will be powering Halo 5: Guardians coming this fall.”
“Next generation” is a pretty strong term to use for the tech that’ll be running the game’s multiplayer modes, and definitely makes it sound as if they’re serious about taking a step up from the services that were a part of Halo 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
“We are looking for a very strong Program Manager II who has a passion for dreaming up and building best-in-class services that are massively scalable, serviceable, reliable and extremely fast,” the job listing continues—and we can only hope those last points will indeed be present in Halo 5, given the troubles The Master Chief Collection had long after launch with matchmaking.
