Evolve getting delayed to February 2015

Turtle Rock Studios’ four-against-one next-gen debut Evolve has been delayed from October 21, 2014 to February 10, 2015, a first quarter fiscal report from distributor Take-Two Interactive revealed.

No specific reason for the delay is cited in the report. Perhaps Turtle Rock needs more time to balance a game that’s heavily dependent on balancing, or perhaps Take-Two wanted the PS4 and Xbox One install base to pad out more over from the holiday season. This is all just speculation, of course. Nonetheless, Evolve joins a long list of games no longer meeting their fall 2014 release date, including EA’s Battlefield Hardline, Batman: Arkham Knight, and The Order: 1886.

Starting life as a THQ-owned property, Evolve was picked up by 2K following the former company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It was formally unveiled through Game Informer earlier this year.
