MS: Nadjite razliku u rezoluciji na tv-ima manjim od 60" (no flamewars)

Microsoft has yet again weighed in on the 1080p/60fps debate that is circling around the Xbox One. UK marketing executive Harvey Eagle says in a new interview that gamers would be challenged to see the differences in resolution and frame rate for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 games on a 60-inch or smaller TV.

“If you put third-party games side-by-side that are running at slightly different resolutions or frame rates, then unless you are using a screen that’s more than 60 inches big, I defy you to really see the difference,” Eagle told CVG. “I personally struggle to see the difference.”

Though Eagle maintains that he doesn’t really see the difference, he did acknowledge that the widely held belief that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is a more powerful console than the Xbox One is a challenge that Microsoft needs to overcome.

“I think it’s a perception challenge, absolutely,” Eagle said. “It’s important, certainly. It’s something the media has certainly picked up on. If that leads to the perception that one machine is more powerful than another, then it’s important, and we’re trying to allow developers to bring games to Xbox One at the highest resolution and frame rate as possible.”

There has been no shortage of examples of high-profile multiplatform games running in higher resolution on PS4 than Xbox One, but it may not always be this way. One way that Microsoft is tackling this issue is through the recent Xbox One June SDK, which boosts console GPU power, Eagle said. “There is some GPU power that can be allocated to Kinect that we’re now freeing up for developers if they want to increase the fidelity of their games,” he explained. “I want to point out though that this is absolutely up to the developer on how they deploy the power.”

If over time more Xbox One games run in 1080p/60fps and PS4 titles continue to hit that mark, what then will separate the competing platforms? According to Eagle, one way the Xbox One will stand out is through exclusive content. Some examples he gave were games like like Sunset Overdrive, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Eagle added that Microsoft needs to ensure that it’s relationship with third-parties remains healthy.

“The next thing you have to do is make sure all the third-parties are partnering on your platform, and try if you can to either make those exclusive to Xbox or coming first to Xbox,” he said.

Other differentiating factors for the Xbox One, Eagle said, include Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program for indie games, voice and motion control through Kinect, and Xbox Live. “We believe it’s the best place to play games with your friends, and I would argue it still is today,” he said.

Microsoft started selling a Kinect-free Xbox One bundle in June, and the company plans to offer the camera technology by itself later this year. Eagle said, “standalone Kinect will be out before Christmas, but we aren’t yet ready to announce price or release date details.”

Kao sto sam rekao u onoj temi o UHD televizorima…samo marketing i nista vise, a ljudi nasedaju toliko da je to za pricu. Cak neki idu toliko daleko da kazu da vide razliku izmedju UHD i fullhd-a na telefonu od 5". :woot:

Razlika je i vise nego ocita.Slika je puno cisca,texture su jace,draw distance itd itd.Tko je je vidio isto zna da je tako,a mislim kako stefan moze potvrditi.Nije tu samo rijec o rezoluciji ima tu vise od toga

Ma oseca se razlika… Postoji znacajna razlika izmedju 30 i 60 FPS-a… A to sto se konzola prodaje i vise nego ocajno i zato ovakve gluposti i pricaju… Inace, u poslednjih 3-4 meseca vise nemaju onako maloumne izjave kao prosle godine… Ali su i dalje glupe izjave :smiley:

Ja kažem da razlika ne postoji i šta onda,takva rasprava ne vodi nicemu.Igrači su sve tupaviji koliko vidim, ko ovde ima obe konzole sa istim igrama da vidi i pokaže razliku.

Ja sam postavio SS iz infamous-a pa hajde neka neko postavi iz ryse-a pa dausporedimo koji god segment hocete.Ili mozemo i neku multiplatform igru tipa Battlefield ili nesto sto god hocete.Pa uostalom imate i digital foundry koji dovoljno govori.

Realno je da je XO slabiji hardverski i tu nema polemike. Ko se vodi cinjenicama o jacini hardvera pri kupovini konzola, taj ce uzeti PS4 i tu nema dileme. Jbg, tako je, kako je. Ja se, npr, vodim drugom logikom, i ja cu uzeti svakako XO, ako Bog da. Rezolucija manje vise, tu i nema neke razlike ako je tipa 1080p vs 900p , ali 30fps vs 60fps je velika razlika. Ali postujem svaciji izbor. :slight_smile: Samo je ovima iz MS-a bolje da ne daju ovakve izjave, ispadaju glupi.
EDIT: Videcemo sta ce optimizacija da uradi u buducnosti, ali to ce da se najvise odnosi na first-party naslove, dok ce kod third-party naslova uvek u prednosti biti PS4.

Ryse uživo izgleda nestvarno dobro, a njegovih 30fps-a su toliko fluidni da je to nenormalno. Pričao sam sa producentima igre, koriste neke fore u CryEngine-u da bi bilo tako smooth i da izgleda tako dobro iako je 900p.

Što se tiče samog developinga na XBOne… Promenili su alatke, sada su mnogo bolje nego što su bile na release-u i oslobodili su još 8-10% GPU snage (transferovali sa kinect-a) tako da će igre sve lepše i lepše izgledati.

Sve bi bilo kul kada bi PS4 imao Crackdown, Halo, Gears of War…

Kakve sve ovo veze ima sa rezolucijom?! U tekstu se govori o rezoluciji.

Čišća slika i texture imaju veze, draw discance ne, što se tiče rezolucije.

Pusti BF4 u 1080p na kompu i 720p (X1) ili 900p (PS4), prebaci na TV sva tri signala (32-40"), šaltaj source na tv-u sedi na razdaljini od 2m i videćeš da li nema razlike.

Razlike ima ili da se lazemo da nema razlike i da je sve to isto, a da li je to nekome bitno e to je vazna stvar.

Razlika postoji, svako ko kaze suprotno je lud :smiley:

Ovde vise do izrazaja dolaze razlike u teksturama, senkama i AA nego u rezoluciji. Ti detalji definitivno prave razliku, ali rezolucija - ne. Skoro neprimetno. A i ovo je 1 frame koji se ne pomera. Da idu 30 njih u sekundi ili koliko vec, sumnjam da bi neko ko nema 60" tv uopste primetio. Mozda ako u nocnim misijama gleda zvezde. Ove razlike ce doci do izrazaja tek u kasnijim naslovima, kad ima mnogo vise detalja u daljini. Mislim da je smesno praviti komparaciju necega sto se nalazi pola metra od kamere.

Ma jok, donosim zakljucke sa YT klipova koji imaju 4Mbps bitrate i vise kockica nego originalni Tetris :smiley:

Skini uncompressed fajlove sa neta pa ces videti ako nemas uslova da uporedis. Ali uzmi u obzir da je 5min klipa oko 10gb
