While we should definitely consider this release date with a grain of salt, as there has been no official announcement by either Evolution Studios or Sony Computer Entertainment, it’s quite possible for the date to be authentic, as it’s actually reproduced on the image on the left of the listing, something that retailers normally don’t do for placeholder dates. You don’t normally go out of your way to photoshop a date on a picture if you’re not fairly sure about it.
Even more interestingly, on the actual pre-order page for the game, that still has the February 28th release date, shopto has a delivery guarantee notice stating that they’re “so confident that you will receive Driveclub for Friday 28th of February 2014 that if for ANY reason you do not” you will be compensated with £5, as you can see below. Looks like they’re ready to put their money where their mouth is.
We have contacted Sony Computer Entertainment for a clarification on the date, and we’ll keep you updated if we receive any further information.
